GTS has been providing surveying and mapping services since its
inception in 1959. Currently we have six (6) survey crews, including
four (4) registered surveyors. Each crew is equipped with
state-of-the-art survey technology.
The professionals on our staff
are
licensed to provide services throughout the mid-Atlantic region. We
utilize Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to determine geographic
positions precisely and efficiently. Changes in GPS technology have
enhanced our ability to attain satellite signals faster at setup and
enabled us to download data quicker. With three receivers, our staff is
able to maximize system capabilities and increase productivity.
GTS maintains CADD capabilities
firm-wide, including AutoCAD with Softdesk and MicroStation with
InRoads. Routine GIS work is done in either AutoCAD Map, MicroStation
Geographics, or Arcview, and our staff has extensive workstation
Arc/Info experience. In addition, the GTS team has extensive field
equipment and computer systems.
Our field equipment includes
Electronic Distance Measurement (EDM) Total Stations with Electronic
Data Collectors, Digital and Automatic Levels, and multiple GPS
Receivers and Recorders. CADD software packages are used with a
networked IBM compatible system supported by digitizing tables, and
three-color inkjet plotters.
