To round out our geotechnical engineering and other related services,
GTS maintains our own AMRL-certified soils and concrete testing
laboratory with a full range of testing capabilities located in our
Harrisburg, PA, headquarters. GTS also conducts field tests and
inspections.

Soils tests can be
performed for:
·
Soil-lime and soil-cement strength
·
Soil index properties
·
Soil compaction and moisture density
·
Consolidation and permeability
·
Soil and water corrosivity
·
California-bearing ratio
·
Rock compression testing
·
Direct shear and unconfined compressive strength
Concrete tests include:
·
Concrete cylinder curing and testing
·
Concrete compression tests
·
Concrete and grout cube compression tests
Out in the field, GTS testing staff install inclinometers and
piezometers, conduct core boring inspections, perform geophysical
testing and evaluations, conduct field permeability tests, perform
subsurface observations via borehole camera, inspect subsurface
grouting, and perform sinkhole and subsidence remediation.
Additional field tests and inspections services include concrete
inspection and strength testing, including concrete slump testing, air
entrainment testing, foundation inspection, caisson inspection, and
subgrade and compaction testing. Our field testing expertise also
includes vibration analysis.
